About
Flippy Tesla
Flippy Tesla is a tiny tap-to-fly game that plays inside an X post. You fly the newly revealed Roadster on its cold-gas thrusters through a night course of launch towers. Post a link and the post itself becomes the game.
Controls
- Tap, click or press Space (or ↑ / W) to fire the thrusters.
- Fly through the gaps between the launch towers. Each gap is +1. The car kickflips on takeoff and again every 10 points.
- It speeds up a little every 10 points, and the gaps slowly get tighter.
- The game pauses when you scroll away or switch tabs. Tap to keep flying.
- Sound is off until you turn it on (speaker button, or M).
Daily rewards
Every 24 hours, the top 10 players on today's leaderboard get paid out creator rewards through X payments. Add your X handle when you save your name to be eligible. Winners are confirmed by @FlippyTesla before each payout. The daily board resets at 00:00 UTC, and the top 10 at reset are that day's winners.
Scores and challenges
There's a daily board (it resets at 00:00 UTC) and an all-time board. When a score makes the board you can pick a name and, if you like, add your X handle (shown as plain text; nothing is linked to your account). Every score can be shared as a challenge link that's playable right in the post.
Scores are checked: the server replays every run with the same physics and counts only the score it gets.
Privacy
- No accounts and no X login.
- No ads and no tracking cookies. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, cookie-free page-view counts. The game counts anonymous plays (the "flights today" number). The game inside X posts loads no analytics.
- Your name, best score and sound setting are kept in your own browser. The name and optional handle you choose for the leaderboard are public.
- IP addresses are used only briefly for rate limiting and aren't stored with scores.
Art
All art is drawn by us in code. The car is our own vector drawing of the newly revealed Roadster, and no Tesla, SpaceX or X logos or assets are used. The wordmark and headline lettering is our own, drawn in code. Text is set in Inter, and in-game overlays use Silkscreen (both SIL Open Font License).
Flippy Tesla is an independent fan-made game. Not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Tesla, SpaceX or X Corp. "Tesla" and "Roadster" are used only to describe the car the game is about.
